专利说明:

15 20 25 30 mentioned uses, but the length and width are gems in the same order of magnitude as for ordinary mechanically produced fl ice, and planed fl ice thus has some of the same disadvantages as ordinary fl ice. Planed ice is also expensive to produce. On the other hand, it is known that ice as a by-product from sawing is often very fine, and can thus be well suited for the areas of use mentioned above. Chips for sawing, e.g. from a chainsaw, however, has the disadvantage that it is so fine that it can cause problems with dust and breathing in both animals and humans. Saw ice is also very time consuming, and thus expensive, to produce. Furthermore, it is also a problem that oil from the saw chain on a chainsaw contaminates the ice. The disadvantage of a saw chain which is wound around a drum and only attached to its two ends is, among other things, that the load on the chain becomes very large at the attachment points. Furthermore, such an attachment can make the work of grinding the chain very time consuming, since the chain must be removed from the drum in order to be able to grind.
The object of the invention is to remedy or reduce at least one of the disadvantages of the prior art, or at least to provide a useful alternative to the prior art. The object is achieved with features set forth in the following description and in the appended claims.
In a first aspect, the invention relates to an ice chopper, wherein the ice chopper comprises: a shaft which is rotatably mounted in a frame and arranged to be rotatable by a drive means; a trurnma which is attached to and rotatable together with the shaft; and an elongate cutting device arranged at least around a portion of the drum, characterized in that the elongate cutting device is fixed against the drum in the position of use of the ice cutter.
The drive means which rotates the drum via the shaft may, for example, be, but is not limited to, a rotating transmission shaft which is attached to the power take-off of a tractor. It will also be appreciated that in some embodiments the drum may be the shaft itself. 10 15 20 25 30 Because the elongate cutting device is a saw chain, the possibility of utilizing standardized, easily accessible saw chains is achieved. These can be, for example, chains that are usually used in Skogsmaskiner. In one embodiment, the saw chain may be a so-called 404 machine saw chain. This saw chain will be suitable for giving the ice the desired degree of unity, which is slightly coarser than ordinary saw ice, but much closer than ice cut with a standard ice cutter and with dimensions such as mentioned above. In an alternative embodiment, round, co-ordinated chains around the drum can be used.
In a first embodiment, the chopper may comprise a tightening device which is arranged to be able to clamp the elongate cutting device across the longitudinal direction of the elongate cutting device. The tightening device will be able to contribute to placing the elongate cutting device firmly against the drum, so that the said cutting device is not displaced relative to the drum during use. There will thus be no need to lubricate or oil the cutting device, which prevents the ice from being contaminated by oil residues. This will also contribute to a more efficient cut.
Furthermore, the tightening device will make the actual process of cutting fl ice safer than if the chain were only attached to its ends, as it will be less likely that the chain will come loose or break during use.
In a second embodiment, the elongate cutting device may be welded to the drum. The elongate cutting device can e.g. be welded to a groove in the drum. The track can be designed as a thread with a specific pitch. Welding will securely attach the elongate cutting device to the drum in an even better manner, thereby further improving the safety of ice cutting with the present invention.
It is an advantage if the elongate cutting device is arranged around and fastened to the drum in such a way that teeth on the elongate cutting device attack the wood substantially in the direction of rotation of the drum. This will increase the efficiency of the cutting and help to give the ice the desired degree of uniformity and appearance, as it is, see the description below, an advantage if the ice cutter cuts across the wood brema. In a preferred embodiment, the elongate cutting device may be arranged around and attached to the drum in such a way that the teeth of the cutting device form rows of teeth which are substantially parallel to the axis of rotation of the drum. This will significantly simplify the process of grinding the teeth of the elongate cutting device because the teeth can be sharpened without having to remove the elongate cutting device from the drum. When grinding, a grinding device can be fastened by means of a holder or the like over the ice cutter, after which an abrasive element, for example a grinding wheel or the like, connected to the grinding device is brought into contact with the teeth of the elongate cutting device. The grinding element can then be moved back and forth over the elongate cutting device parallel to the shaft to grind entire rows of teeth in a repetitive motion. Said grinding process will be able to give straight ground teeth, which can be advantageous in view of increased efficiency when cutting across the fiber direction, since the teeth will be able to attack the wood much like a chisel.
In one embodiment of the present invention, the outer periphery of the drum can rotate at a speed in the range of 15-30 meters per second. However, it should be mentioned that other rotational speeds may be appropriate for other types of cutting devices than the typical saw chains mentioned earlier.
In a second aspect, the invention relates to a method for cutting ice, wherein the method uses an ice cutter comprising: a shaft which is rotatably mounted in a frame and arranged to be rotatable by a drive means; a drum attached to and rotatable together with the shaft; and an elongate cutting device disposed at least about a portion of the drum, the method being characterized in that it comprises the following: attaching the elongate cutting device to the drum; applying rotational force to the shaft by means of a drive means; and bringing a piece of wood into contact with the elongate cutting device of the rotating drum.
The wood can, for example, but does not have to, be a log. By bringing one end of the log into contact with the elongate cutting device in a substantially normal direction towards the periphery of the drum, the log will be cut up normally towards the fiber direction. This will help to give the ice the desired degree of unity. Cutting along the log, ie along the wooden branches, will give longer and larger ice chips.
The recovery is not limited to individual areas of use, but particularly appropriate areas of use for fl ice that is cut with said fl ice chopper and with said method can be biofuel or animal litter and dry manure.
The following is an example of a non-limiting, preferred embodiment, which is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which: fi g 1 shows a detailed enlarged sketch of a fl ice cutter without a frame, seen from the front; fi g 2 shows a sketch of an fl ice cutter without a frame, seen from the front and with a drive means seen from the side; and fi g 3 shows a sketch of an fl ice cutter in a frame seen from the side.
Reference numeral 1 in the following indicates an ice cutter according to the invention. Fig. 1 shows an elongate cutting device, which is arranged around a drum 17. The cutting device 15, which is shown as a saw chain, is laid in a groove 16b around the drum 17, where the groove is formed by a coil spring 16a, which is compressibly arranged around the drum 17. The teeth 151 of the saw chain 15 are shown engaging in the direction of rotation R of the drum 17. The saw chain 15 is arranged so that its teeth 151 form rows of teeth 151 substantially parallel to an axis of rotation 11, in which the drum 17 is fixed. The axis of rotation 11 is rotatably mounted in a frame 3, which is shown on fi g 1 and 2 for the sake of clarity. The teeth 151 of the saw chain 15 are shown in fi g 1 as ground, but after a grinding process, as described herein, the teeth 151 will typically appear as ground (not shown). The drum 17 is further shown provided with a tightening device consisting of tightening screws 13, nuts 131, abutment 12, 14, a tightening ring 18 and sliding guides 19. The first abutment 12 and the tightening ring 18 are both attached to the sliding guides 19 so that the distance between the abutment 12 and the tightening ring 18 is constant. The sliding guides 19 10 15 20 25 30 are displaceable through slots (not shown) in the second abutment 14 closest to the saw chain 15.
By adjusting the nuts 131, fastened to the screws 13, the distance between the stops 12, 14 will be able to be changed. This also changes the relative distance between the stop 14 and the tightening ring 18. The tightening ring 18 and the stop 14 will thus be able to be moved against each other in order to be able to compress the spring 16a and thereby clamp the saw chain 15 in the groove 16b. The saw chain 15 may be welded to the drum 17 and the groove 16b may be threaded into the drum 17 (not shown).
Fig. 2 shows a simplified sketch of an ice chopper 1 driven by a drive means 21, on the fi clock shown as a rotating transfer shaft 21 between the power take-off of a tractor 2 and the shaft 11 of the ice chopper 1. A coupling part 22 is also outlined as arranged between the tractor 2 transfer shaft 21 and fl ice cutter 1 shaft 11. The coupling part 22 may in individual embodiments comprise one or fl your gears (not shown). In alternative embodiments, the wood chipper can be provided with rotational force from other drive means 21, ie. electric, hydraulic or pneumatic drive means 21 of types known to those skilled in the art.
In fi g 3, an fl ice cutter 1 is sketched from the side, attached and rotatably mounted in a frame 3.
The timber 5, shown here as a log, is shown directed towards the ice cutter 1. One end 51 of the log 5 is aligned in the normal direction of the drum 17 of the ice cutter 1. In this way, the ice will be brought up across the direction, ie. in a direction which is the normal direction towards the longitudinal direction of the log 5, and the ice has a finer structure than if it were cut along the direction of the log 5. On the uren gure, one end 51 of the log 5, facing the fl ice cutter 1, is partially obscured by the frame 3. A support 4 is also outlined in the fi gure to relieve the weight from the log 5 while the log is brought in towards the fl ice cutter 1 and chopped into . From the state of the art, it is previously known various devices which are arranged to be able to automatically or partially automatically feed a log 5 against an ice chopper 1, but these devices are not shown in the figures. The handling of the foamed ice is also a known technique and is not shown.
The tile can e.g. fall into a trough or the like, and are further transported away with, for example, a conveyor belt or a screw. The wood chipper 1 will also be able to be provided with a trough or the like on the upper side of the drum 17 for feeding smaller pieces of wood 5 to be cut into ice.
